Eat Out to Help Out

Eat Out to Help Out is a government-backed scheme which will operate during August 2020. Its aim is to encourage people to eat out at quiet times in pubs, cafés and restaurants to boost the economy following the Covid-19 lockdown. Under the scheme, when you eat out in a participating establishment, you pay half-price on the food and soft drink portion of your bill, up to a maximum of £10 per person per meal Monday to Wednesday. The pub, café or restaurant claims the other half back from the government. You can use the scheme as many times as you want, and you do not have to download a voucher - you should get the discount automatically. The offer does not apply in all food establishments, it only applies in businesses that have registered, so check that you are in an outlet that has registered. As far as we know, the pubs marked below with a tick in the right-hand column have all registered. You can double-check by going to the government‘s own website. You need to type in a postcode for the area you are in and it will show you all establishments that are particpating within 5 miles of that postcode. (If you are taking part in the scheme and we have not got you ticked below, please let us know via the contact page on this website.)

Note: One pub is offering the same discount independently, and has not registered with the government scheme. This pub is marked with a double star below. One other pub is marked ?? in this column - we think this pub is offering the discount as part of a pub company agreement with the treasury and that is why it does not come up on the postcode search above - please confirm with the pub itself.
