Ian Berry presents an Improved Pub Award to the Tarn House, September 2014Keighley and Craven CAMRA Improved Pub award

As well as our seasonal and annual pub awards, we occasionally present an award to recognise the achievements of a particular licensee. This usually, but not always, happens when someone has taken over a poorly performing pub and transformed it by dramatically increasing the beer range and/or improving the quality of ale on sale. However, two of the more recent awards have been to eating establishments that started serving cask beer and serve it in excellent condition.

Some of the pubs below have since changed hands and have lost the sparkle that gained them the award while the Brewery Arms, Keighley has since closed. The Turkey, the Brown Cow and the Talbot have gone on to win a Pub of the Season award and the Brown Cow has been Pub of the Year. Where this is the case, the links are to the most recent award article.
