Keighley and Craven CAMRA Pub Of The Season
Our current Pub of the Season (Winter 2022/2023) is the Brown Cow, Keighley.
Pubs of the Season are selected by popular vote at branch meetings. Members look for pubs that offer top notch cask beer quality, a friendly welcome and good service, plus all those little extras that make a pub a place that you don’t want to leave. Two awards are made per year and pubs can be nominated by any CAMRA member belonging to the Keighley and Craven branch: submit your nomination in writing to the branch chair along with a short description of what makes the pub special and why you think it should be our next Pub of the Season. Nominations and voting are a month apart to ensure as many prospective voters as possible can visit all the pubs nominated.
The Pub of the Season award has been running since 1985, and is nearly as old as the Branch itself! In 2014, we decided to switch from 4 awards a year to 2, starting with the 2014 Summer award. There was a Covid-enforced break in 2020 before resuming with Winter 2021/22. The full list is given below in reverse order, along with a link to the original report for each award, if we still have it. Note that many pubs have changed hands (ownership and/or management) since the awards were presented. In the list below, change of hands is indicated for all awards since 2009. Prior to 2010, all the pubs of the season have since changed hands or management with the exception of the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway Buffet Car, the Cricketers Arms (Keighley) and the Friendly (Stanbury).
