The Boltmakers Arms, Keighley.

Chairperson Colleen (right) presents the award to Val and Phil Booth.Members of Keighley & Craven CAMRA (Campaign for Real Ale) have voted the Boltmakers' Arms in East Parade, Keighley as their winter 2009/10 Pub of the Season. In the capable hands of licensees Phil and Val Booth for nearly five years, this small, but perfectly-run Timothy Taylor's pub is a real locals' local, although an equally warm welcome is extended to visiting drinkers. The small bar serves a compact, but comfortable split-level drinking area decorated with musical posters and memorabilia from the sixties to the present day.

The full range of Taylor's draught beers is normally available, as well as at least one guest beer from another independent brewery and a traditional cider. For the whisky connoisseur a large range of single malts are ranged on the ornately-carved gantry.

The pub is open all-day every day and a popular quiz is held on Tuesday evenings.

The award was presented to Phil and Val on Wednesday 16th December 2009.

Note: This is the 7th time the Boltmakers has been awarded Pub of the Season, and the third time under Phil and Val's management. Previous awards were: Spring 2008, Summer 2005, Summer 2001, Spring 1998, Autumn 1990 and Winter 1986/1987.
